It’s too early to guess who’s going to be the next American Idol but Fil-Am Jessica Sanchez is clearly one of the frontrunners of the competition. Her flawless rendition of the late Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You” garnered a standing ovation from the judges and Steven Tyler even quipped that she made 40 million people cry. Aside from Jessica other stand outs were Hollie Cavanagh who sang ‘All The Man That I Need”, Skylar Laine who gave “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” a country flavor, Deandre Brackensick with his funky version of Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster” and Phil Phillips who got the pimp spot of the evening and gave a Dave Matthews-esque performance of “Superstition.”
In an X-Factor like twist, the bottom girl and guy will be in danger of elimination and the judges will have to decide who is the first to go home among the Top 13.
Update: Jeremy “Jere Bear” Rosado is the first one eliminated in the competition.
